"This is the largest investment project in the history of Turkestan region - a power plant with a capacity of 1000 MW. When it is realized, the energy deficit in our region will be completely solved. At the same time, it will provide an opportunity for dynamic development of large enterprises and production," noted Darhan Satybaldy, Akim of Turkestan region.
Chairman of the Board of " CCGT Turkestan" LLP Askar Kusainov informed the Akim of Turkestan region about the progress of preparatory works. Engineering-geological and engineering-geodesic surveys have been completed at the site.
Currently, works on erection of temporary buildings and structures (shift camp) for engineers and workers are underway. During the construction of the power plant and infrastructure it is planned to employ about 2000 people, and after the commissioning of the facility - 360 people for permanent employment.
Today Turkestan region needs 320 MW of electric capacity. Therefore, the region has high hopes for the future energy source both in terms of economic development and improving the reliability of the energy system. The combined cycle power plant will have advanced technologies, be characterized by efficiency and minimal impact on the environment.
It should be noted that the project is being implemented by order of the Head of State. The Samruk-Kazyna Fund is engaged in the realization of the project. The general contractor was a consortium of Korean Doosan Enerbility Co. LTD and Bazis Construction LLP, whose representatives left memorable notes in the capsule. The project "Construction of power plant on the basis of combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) with capacity of 1000 MW in Turkestan region" is planned to be completed in 2026.
