On 28 April 2026, the management of CCGT Turkistan LLP, led by Chairman of the Management Board Ulan Burkitov, together with representatives of Elektromontazh JSC, inspected the progress of construction of the 500/220 kV external electrical networks. During the visit, the participants inspected the installed overhead transmission line towers, the assembly and installation area for anchor-angle towers, and the tie-in point of the overhead line to the existing network. These networks are required to export power from the combined-cycle gas turbine power plant under construction to the power system.
A significant scope of work has already been completed on several sections. On the 500 kV Zhambyl - Shymkent overhead line, 144 km of conductors have been strung out of the planned 154 km. On the 220 kV Shymkent - Kyzylsay overhead line, 78 km out of 81 km have been strung, and 54 anchor-angle towers and 120 intermediate towers have been installed. On the 220 kV Shymkent - Sastobe and Shymkent - Bozaryk overhead line sections, work continues on tower installation, assembly of steel structures, crossarms and ladders, as well as preparations for conductor installation.
“If contractors have any issues, they need to raise them now, without waiting for schedule delays. Steel structures, equipment and materials are available. The key issue now is having enough personnel on site,” Ulan Burkitov noted.
Following the inspection, the contractors were instructed to strengthen personnel mobilization and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the schedule.
