Chairman of CCGT Turkistan Meets with Governor of Turkistan Region

Kuanysh Bektemirov, Chairman of the Management Board of Turkistan CCGT LLP, held a working meeting with Nuralkhan Kusherov, Governor of Turkistan Region.

The meeting addressed the implementation of the region’s largest investment project – the construction of a combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant with an installed capacity of up to 1000 MW, located in the Sairam district. The construction of the energy facility was initiated pursuant to the directive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The project is scheduled for implementation between 2024 and 2026.

Kuanysh Bektemirov reported to the regional Governor on the progress of construction and installation works. The project is being implemented across five main components: Main construction site; Power evacuation infrastructure with voltage levels of 500 kV and 220 kV; External gas supply system; Access road construction; Water intake system.

As of today, 64% of the concreting work has been completed. The delivery of metal structures and core equipment for the power plant is ongoing.

During the meeting, the Governor of Turkistan Region emphasized the strategic importance of the project for the region and underscored the necessity of its high-quality and timely execution. He also confirmed comprehensive support for the construction of the power plant.
