Chairman of «CCGT Turkistan» Ulan Burkitov meets with the Akim of Turkistan region

Ulan Burkitov, Chairman of the Management Board of «CCGT Turkistan» LLP, met today with Nuralkhan Kusherov, the Akim of Turkistan Region, to discuss the progress of a strategic investment project - the construction of a 1,000 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in the Sairam district.

During the meeting, the head of the region, Nuralkhan Kusherov, emphasized the project's priority for ensuring the stable development of the Turkistan region. He noted that the construction is being carried out under the direct instruction of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and remains under the constant supervision of the regional leadership.

Ulan Burkitov, Chairman of the Management Board of «CCGT Turkistan», briefed the Akim on the project’s results for 2025, announcing the transition to a key technological phase: the installation of heavy power equipment. Notably, by the end of this year, two gas turbines and their corresponding generators were successfully mounted on temporary supports within the station's main building. The comprehensive scope of work, including design, logistics, and equipment installation, is being managed by an international consortium comprising Doosan Enerbility and «Integra Construction KZ» LLP.

Following the meeting, the Akim underscored the importance of high-quality and timely completion of the construction within the established deadlines and pledged the full support of the local executive body. The implementation of this large-scale project is intended not only to strengthen the energy security and independence of the southern region but also to provide a significant boost to the provincial economy through job creation and the development of industrial infrastructure.
