Representatives of the general contractor—the Doosan Enerbility and Integra Construction KZ consortium—reported on the project status:
- 83% of the equipment has been delivered to the site;
- approximately 650 workers are engaged in construction and installation works, some of whom are accommodated in on-site shift camps;
- the main works are being carried out in accordance with the production schedule.
Following the site inspection, an operational meeting was held. Project participants discussed issues affecting the interface between construction stages and approved an action plan to address them, including strengthening operational communications among all project stakeholders.
“The project must be completed in 2026 in accordance with the instruction of the Head of State. This is a strict deadline that requires maximum mobilization of resources,” Ulan Burkitov noted.
The construction of the 1,000 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant is a strategically important project aimed at strengthening the energy security of southern Kazakhstan. Commissioning of the plant will enable a rapid response to changes in electricity demand and support the development of regional industry.
