Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk Kazyna Construction JSC visited the office of CCGT Turkestan LLP

The construction schedule of the power plant on the basis of combined cycle gas turbine with capacity of 1000 MW in Turkestan region was presented by the General Director of CCPP Turkestan LLP Askar Kusainov to the Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC Maulen Aimanbetov.

During the meeting information on the status of feasibility study development and preparation of EPC contracts was heard. The construction of a power plant based on a combined cycle gas turbine with a capacity of up to 1000 MW will increase the reliability of Kazakhstan's energy system and will make it possible to compensate for the lack of energy capacity in the south of the country.

This large-scale project is being implemented on the instructions of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, voiced in the President's Address to the people of Kazakhstan in 2021.

In the process of construction of the power facility it is planned to attract about 2000 people. And when the power plant will begin to function, its maintenance will be constantly engaged in about 300 specialists.

It should be noted that on September 22, 2022, in accordance with the decision of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna", the construction of a power plant based on CCGT with a maneuverable mode of generation with a total capacity of up to 1000 MW in Turkestan region transferred to 100% trust management of JSC "Samruk-Kazyna Construction".
