Ulan Burkitov, Chairman of the Management Board of CCGT Turkistan LLP, together with company engineers, inspected the external gas supply facilities of the future 1,000 MW combined-cycle gas turbine power plant. The head of the company reviewed the construction progress of the automated gas distribution station, the condition of valve assemblies, and sections of the gas pipeline.
At present, the overall readiness of the external gas supply project stands at 97.4%. Out of the planned 13.612 km of gas pipeline, 13.602 km have been laid. Construction of the automated gas distribution station building and installation of the main equipment have been fully completed. Commissioning and adjustment works, as well as site improvement works, are now underway.
The gas pipeline runs through Sairam District of the Turkistan Region, along Karamurt village. In September 2024, the tie-in to the Beineu - Bozoi - Shymkent trunk gas pipeline was successfully completed, and a valve assembly was installed at the connection point.
“For a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant, a stable gas supply is a basic operating requirement. Therefore, the external gas pipeline and the automated gas distribution station are of strategic importance for the entire project. This creates the necessary foundation for launching the plant’s capacity within the planned timeframe,” Ulan Burkitov noted.
The design solutions provide for the safe operation of the gas infrastructure and the minimization of environmental risks. The construction of CCGT Turkistan is aimed at improving the reliability of power supply in Kazakhstan’s southern regions, including the Turkistan Region and the city of Shymkent.
