Members of the Supervisory Board reviewed the progress of construction at CCGT Turkistan

On 22 May 2026, Gabidulla Abdrakhimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CCGT Turkistan LLP, and Alexey Repin, Member of the Supervisory Board, visited the 1,000 MW combined-cycle gas turbine plant site in Sairam District, Turkistan Region.

Ulan Burkitov, Chairman of the Management Board, together with representatives of the general contractor consortium - Doosan Enerbility and Integra Construction KZ - presented the progress of the project, including the status of works at the main site, schedule performance, and tasks related to preparations for first power delivery.

Works are ongoing at the main building, air-cooled condenser units, operational control point, and the 220/500 kV outdoor switchyard. The main modules have been installed on two heat recovery steam generators, and their tie-in with the gas turbines is underway. Readiness of external gas supply works stands at 97.4%.

“It is important to synchronize the main site, power export, and auxiliary infrastructure. The focus is on schedules, quality, resources, and coordination among all participants,” Ulan Burkitov noted.

After the site walkdown, a production meeting was held with the participation of CCGT Turkistan LLP, Doosan Enerbility, and Integra Construction KZ. The participants discussed schedules, resources, quality of works, and coordination along the critical path.

Gabidulla Abdrakhimov noted that the plant under construction will become one of the largest modern combined-cycle gas turbine power plants in Kazakhstan. According to him, the project will enable more efficient use of gas, reduce emissions compared with coal-fired generation, decrease the electricity deficit in southern Kazakhstan, and strengthen the unified power system.

“This is a very important project for the country. Today, each of you is doing significant work. Completing such a large-scale facility with quality and on time is our shared responsibility,” Gabidulla Abdrakhimov noted.

The participants also inspected the 220 kV Shymkent - Sastobe overhead line section, which is part of the project’s external infrastructure.
