A scheduled fire-tactical drill was carried out at the Main Site of the 1000 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT Turkistan) power plant under construction in the Turkistan Region.
The drill, initiated by CCGT Turkistan Employer together with the General Contractor Integra Construction KZ LLP, aimed to ensure coordinated and effective actions of personnel and emergency services in case of an incident, prioritizing the safety of employees and the plant’s high-tech equipment.
During the simulated fire, rapid communication was established with responsible units in charge of emergency response. Workers who had completed fire safety training were the first to begin extinguishing the simulated ignition using fire extinguishers. Shortly after, the fire crew of the Non-Governmental Firefighting Service Daryn Expert LLP arrived on site, practicing combat deployment, rescuing the injured and extinguishing the fire source.
The coordinated interaction between the Consortium representatives and the Emergency Department of Sairam District ensured the successful elimination of the simulated fire. Medical service staff also practiced their emergency response procedures. In total, around 500 people took part in the drill. Fire-tactical exercises of this kind will continue to be conducted on a regular basis.
