At the CCGT Turkistan site, the installation of a gas turbine generator was completed with the participation of engineers from Siemens Energy, the manufacturer of the high-tech equipment. The generator was delivered to the Main Building using a self-propelled modular platform. It was then installed in its permanent design position next to the gas turbine using a 600-ton crane.
The key operations related to lifting, positioning, and installation were carried out in accordance with the approved Work Execution Plan (WEP), which included calculations of the load radius, boom outreach, and wind limitations. The works were performed in normal operating mode, in full compliance with safety requirements, and without any deviations.
“Doosan, as the consortium leader, carried out the supervision of the equipment installation and controlled the works,” said Serzhan Kamzin, Lead Mechanical Engineer at Doosan Enerbility.
Representatives of the EPC contractor, Integra Construction KZ LLP, also noted that all operations were carried out correctly:
“We delivered the gas turbine generator and installed it in its designated location. The generator itself weighs over 200 tons. The delivery and installation operation was successful; all planned activities were completed according to schedule and without incidents,” said Akan Ashirbekov, Deputy Executive Director for Construction of the CCGT Construction Directorate, Integra Construction KZ LLP.
The Siemens Energy gas turbine generator model is a synchronous two-pole air-cooled generator designed for high-capacity power facilities, with a capacity of up to 210 MW.
The installation of the generator is a logical continuation of the previously completed gas turbine installation. The formation of the “Gas Turbine + Generator” power pair moves the project to the next stage — precise alignment of the unit and preparation for commissioning activities.
