Ulan Burkitov Appointed Chairman of the Management Board of CCGT Turkistan LLP

Ulan Burkitov is a graduate of Satbayev Kazakh National Technical University and Imperial College London under the international Bolashak scholarship programme. He holds a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.

He has over 20 years of international experience in the oil and gas sector, asset management, delivery of capital-intensive projects, and digital transformation. He began his professional career as a production operator at the Kozhasay field. Throughout his career, he has held technical and managerial positions at leading international energy companies, including KPO B.V., Kuwait Energy Company (Kuwait), Statoil (Norway), and Shell (the Netherlands and Kazakhstan).

Prior to his appointment at CCGT Turkistan LLP, Mr. Burkitov served as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC QazaqGaz JSC and concurrently as Chairman of the Management Board of QazaqGaz Exploration and Production LLP.

CCGT Turkistan LLP is implementing a project for the construction of a combined-cycle gas turbine power plant with flexible generation capability and a total installed capacity of up to 1,000 MW in the Turkistan Region. The project is aimed at ensuring reliable electricity generation and enhancing the stability of power supply in southern Kazakhstan. The Turkistan CCGT project is one of the key regional energy infrastructure initiatives, designed to meet growing electricity demand and reduce the deficit of generation capacity.
